Program Overview
Prepare to apply engineering principles to real-world systems, products, and technologies with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from the University of North Alabama. This four-year undergraduate program is designed to help students develop diverse engineering and practical skills while understanding engineering’s role in shaping and improving society.
Why Choose This Program?
- Choose a career-focused program option. Students may pursue options in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Power Generation Engineering Technology, or Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Engineering Technology.
- Study workplace safety and environmental practices. The Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety Engineering Technology option focuses on worker health, workplace safety, and sustainable environmental practices.
- Prepare for high-demand industries. Graduates of the Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology option leave prepared for careers in automotive, aerospace, electronics, and consumer product manufacturing industries.
Curriculum & Coursework
The BS in Engineering Technology requires 120 total credit hours. Students complete general education requirements, Area V coursework, major core requirements, one program option, and general electives as needed. A minor is not required for this major.

Engineering Technology graduates are prepared for careers in industries that rely on applied engineering, technical systems, manufacturing, power generation, workplace safety, environmental practices, and technology management. Depending on their selected option, students may pursue roles in automotive, aerospace, electronics, consumer product manufacturing, energy, occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, and related technical fields.
